So, we are now moving on to the next step of our project!!
We worked together to create our initial storyboard and now we have to organize our filming process!!
An easy thing to consider when filming is that any edits can be made later on. If we make any mistakes with lines or have to start over, we can just edit out the parts we don't need! Something difficult to consider, however, is how we are going to film. We don't have a cameraman, so we are going to have to come up with a way to film each other. We also would need to figure out how to film scenes where all of us have to be shown.
1. Actors
The actors will include the four of us in the group: Christy, Zadie, Tiffany, and Tatyana (me). We do not know who the server will be yet, but later on, we will call to see who has the best items to create an outfit. I will play the main role as the person who collapses.
2. Costumes
Our movie opener takes place during Christmas dinner. For costumes, we decided that we should wear something festive but also somewhat fancy. There isn't anything specific we have to wear but it just has to meet those requirements. We also want to incorporate some reds and greens into our outfits as well. For the server, we decided that the general idea for the outfit would be black pants and a white button-up shirt with black flats. We wanted this outfit to look professional but not something over-the-top or distracting.
3. Props
Our props will of course include the dinner meal and dinnerware. For the poison bottle, we will use a small bottle without a label. There will also be some set props such as the table and chairs. The decorations on the table like the candles, placemats, flowers, cups, and centerpieces will also be included.
4. Locations
We will be filming our opener at Christy's house. We decided on her house because it is large enough to film and she has a lengthy table that can hold all the food and props that are essential to the story. We plan to film in her kitchen and dining room. Her home also has the lighting we need. The second location is Memorial Pembroke Hospital. We do not plan to go inside, as we wouldn't want to cause a disruption or distractions, but we will film us driving by the sign outside the hospital.
5. Dates and times
Our set date to film is Saturday, January 4. Since our opener is set around dinner time, we felt it was best to film later in the day, so we will meet at Christy's house around 4:30 pm.
6. Film equipment
Unfortunately, we do not have any professional equipment of our own to film our opener, so we plan on borrowing some from Becon TV! However, it may be difficult to pick up the equipment since it is quite far from all of us. If it is not possible, our backup option is to use Christy's vlog camera. For lighting, we will use a few candles and the lighting in Christy's house, as well as ring lights if we do end up getting the equipment from Becon TV. Additionally, if we don't get microphones, we have to be very quiet when filming to ensure that the vlog camera picks up the audio the best it can.
I'm so excited to begin the filming process and I can't wait to see how it turns out!!!
