Hey guys!!
I am super excited because my group and I are now starting the process of making out own film opener!!!
The first step is brainstorming, and my group and I have been coming up with a few ideas.
Here's a few things we came up with:
1. Holiday Dinner Family Feud
This is one of the first ideas we came up with. It was inspired by the Friday night dinners that are frequently held in the show "Gilmore Girls". With the holidays approaching we thought this could be really entertaining. My group and I also wrote down some pros and cons for this idea. We would easily be able to film this at one of our houses, which is a pro. However, making the argument seem believable may be a con since our acting is not on the highest level.
2. Award Ceremony Speech
The second idea we came up with is an award ceremony speech. One member from our group would act as a celebrity. This celebrity is being recognized for an award and will give a funny/inspirational speech on stage. A pro to this is that we may use the stage in our school's auditorium, which is where we were thinking we could film this, but it's not guaranteed. A con to this, however, is that it will be challenging to come up with a good speech that captures the celebrity's emotions and feelings, as well as what it's like to win an award.
3. Black Friday Holiday Shopping Spree
The holidays are approaching so a lot of our ideas are inspired by that. We came up with this idea while thinking about the stress and chaos that comes with Black Friday and holiday shopping. This opener would include the main character on Black Friday on a mission to get all her holiday shopping done. She will experience some issues along the way like fighting with other shoppers for the last item on the shelf and arguing for discounts with the cashiers. The goal is to make our audience laugh and immerse them in the chaos. However, we would need quite a few people to make this work, and we may also have to film in a place like Target, Walmart, or the mall. As most places allow filming in their stores, this would not be too hard to execute!
We're definitely not done coming up with more ideas and will continue to brainstorm!!
Stay tuned for more!! ;)
